Full job description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Production Assistant to support manufacturing operations at our Patterson, New York facility. This onsite role helps keep production activities organized by coordinating work order flow, tracking progress, and working across departments to keep schedules on target. The position is well suited for someone who enjoys working with data, solving day-to-day operational issues, and contributing to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage production work orders by entering updates, monitoring status, and helping move jobs through each stage of the manufacturing process.

  • Partner with teams in purchasing, engineering, inventory, shipping, and operations to address delays and keep priorities aligned with production needs.

  • Check work orders for completeness, correct routing, and scheduling details to support accurate execution on the shop floor.

  • Maintain reliable system records, transactional data, and production documentation to support visibility and operational accuracy.

  • Communicate regularly with production personnel and leadership regarding order progress, changing priorities, and potential bottlenecks.

  • Help expedite urgent jobs by identifying material shortages, schedule conflicts, or process issues and coordinating follow-up actions.

  • Prepare reports on open orders, production activity, and performance trends to support operational decision-making.

  • Contribute ideas that improve workflow efficiency, strengthen communication, and support continuous improvement within the manufacturing process. Requirements • Strong organizational ability with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Capacity to balance multiple tasks and deadlines in a busy manufacturing setting.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and confidence learning ERP, inventory, or production tracking systems.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.

  • Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving operational issues.

  • Dependable and adaptable work style with a willingness to learn and grow in the role.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous experience in production coordination, scheduling, inventory control, logistics, purchasing, or manufacturing support is preferred.
