Full job description
Westhaven, a Cassia senior care community, is hiring Certified Medication Aides (CMAs) to join our dedicated care team. Whether you are beginning your healthcare journey or bringing valuable experience, at Westhaven you will feel appreciated, supported, and empowered to grow. As a CMA at Westhaven, you will prepare and administer medications and provide cares that support the health and comfort of our residents. You’ll also assist with daily living activities and partner with Nurses and fellow team members to deliver high-quality, person-centered care. The ideal candidate holds both CNA and CMA certifications, is dependable and compassionate, and finds purpose in supporting the well-being of older adults each day.
Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time working varying hours including weekends and every other holiday
Shifts Available:
Evenings 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Full-Time or Part-Time)
Nights 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Full-Time or Part-Time)
Bonus: $1,000
Location: 112 W 4th St, Boone, IA 50036
Certified Medication Aide Responsibilities:

Prepare and administer medications in accordance with Westhaven policies.

Review and follow a written care plan.
-
Measure and record vital signs including pulse, temperature, and blood pressure on new computerized software.

Assist with various resident cares such as answering light calls, feeding and helping residents to the bathroom.

Administer topical treatments as prescribed.
-
Observe resident behavior and report any changes in condition or behavior to supervisor.

Perform other duties as requested.
Certified Medication Aide Qualifications:
-
Must hold current, valid CMA / CNA licenses in the state of Iowa.

CPR certification required.

Communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.

Regular attendance is required.

Excellent customer service skills.
-
Team player who has a passion for elder care and adapts quickly to changing situations.

Strong communication skills to interact with residents and staff.
