About the Role
We're looking for a Workplace Lead to build and run the physical and experiential backbone of our company as we scale globally. This is a rare role that sits at the intersection of strategy and execution: you'll design the systems, plan for capacity ahead of growth, and create an environment for employees and visitors alike that reflects who we are as a company.
This role is built for someone who thinks like an operator and acts like a host. You're comfortable owning a multi-year space strategy and a same-day event logistics in the same week.
What you will do and achieve Operations & Systems
-
Build the infrastructure (vendor relationships, budgets, tooling, processes) that lets Workplace scale without your personal bandwidth being the bottleneck
-
Manage a workplace budget and report on spend, utilization, and ROI
-
Hire and develop a team as scale requires it
Expansion & Space Planning
-
Lead site selection, lease negotiations (with legal/finance support), and buildout for new offices as we expand globally
-
Own headcount-driven capacity planning, forecasting space needs against hiring plans and adjusting in real time
-
Partner with local counsel, contractors, and vendors to stand up compliant, functional offices in new markets
-
Build repeatable playbooks so each new market opens faster and more predictably than the last
Employee & Visitor Experience
-
Own the day-to-day experience of every office the details that make people want to come in and want to bring people to
-
Design and run onsite programs, from daily operations to milestone moments (offsites, board meetings, exec visits)
-
Set the standard for how visitors, candidates, and guests experience the company from the moment they walk in
-
Build feedback loops with employees to continuously improve the workplace experience across locations
-
Build and lead a team of Office Coordinators across the newly formed offices
Events
-
Plan and execute company-wide events, from team offsites to all-hands to external-facing gatherings
-
Manage event budgets, vendors, and logistics end-to-end
-
Partner with Leadership and cross-functional teams on programming that reinforces culture and connection
Qualifications
-
7+ years in Workplace, Facilities, or a closely related operations role, including experience opening or scaling offices in multiple markets/countries
-
Track record of building systems and playbooks, not just running programs
-
Strong project management and vendor negotiation skills; comfortable owning budgets and being accountable for outcomes
-
A genuine hospitality instinct - you notice the details others miss and care about how people feel in a space
-
Startup DNA: you're energized by ambiguity, move fast, and are just as willing to move furniture as you are to present a capacity plan to leadership
-
Excellent judgment on when to build for scale vs. when to keep things scrappy
-
International experience preferred (real estate, considerations across markets)
This is an in-office position (5 days/week) in San Francisco (walking distance to Caltrain)
