Job Description
The Sewing Operator reports directly to the Production Supervisor and Line Lead. Sewing Operator will be performing the assembly and construction of protective-related apparel that meets customer specifications and expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

ABILITY TO UTILIZE RELATED EQUIPMENT TO ASSEMBLE APPAREL, MEETING EXPECTED QUALITY STANDARDS.

MUST COMPREHEND AND UNDERSTAND PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS, AS WELL AS AN UNDERSTANDING OF ASSEMBLY REQUIREMENTS.

ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND STITCH FORMATION AND PATTERN FIT FOR PROPER CONSTRUCTION.
-
MUST BE WILLING TO LEARN HOW DIFFERENT COMPONENTS (THREAD, FINDINGS, AND TRIM) ARE APPLIED IN THE OPERATION TO MEET JOB SPECIFICATIONS.

ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND BASIC EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE (OIL, CLEANING, ETC.).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)

Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, work proactively and independently in a fast-changing environment.

Good attendance record
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Light Carrying: Physically transporting items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another.

Moderate Carrying: Physically carrying items weighing 15 to 44 pounds.

Usage of Hands: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm.

Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with fingers (including thumb) and palm.

Light Lifting: Raising objects under 15 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from one position to another.

Moderate Lifting: Lifting objects between 15 to 44 pounds.

Repetitive Motion: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for sustained periods of time.

Visual Requirements: Ability to read computer screen and job cards (i.e. ability to read/see PC screens, detect color coding, read fine-print and/or standard-size print.

RELATIONSHIPS &CONTACTS:
- Communicates with Supervisors, Line Leads, management staff, Sewing Operators, Quality Inspectors, and other team members. May occasionally encounter customers, suppliers and corporate staff.
