Special Education Teachers Needed!

Opportunity for unlicensed individuals as well!

Modality: Residential School-Based Special Education Teacher

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

Hours: 40 hours per week

  • School Calendar: Most traditional school holidays observed

  • Setting: Chapter 766 approved school (220-day program)

Start Date: Extended School Year program and would extend into the standard year as well. Potential to turn into direct employment for the right candidate.

Openings: 4 - Math, History, Science, and ELA - grades 5-12

Pay Rate: Up to $58/hr (based on licensure and experience)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking 4 Special Education Teacher for a residential school-based contract. This role supports students receiving special education services in an academic setting and offers a consistent weekday schedule with no weekends required.

Special Education Teacher Responsibilities

  • Provide special education instruction and support in a school setting

  • Implement and follow IEPs and individualized learning plans

  • Adapt curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback as needed

  • Participate in meetings and maintain compliance with special education standards

  • Additional assignment details will be discussed during the interview process

Students with Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities

This residential school primarily serves adolescents diagnosed with emotional impairments or behavioral disabilities that significantly interfere with learning in traditional public school settings. These may include:

  • Severe anxiety or depression

  • Mood disorders

  • Emotional dysregulation

  • Persistent behavioral challenges in school

  • Difficulty maintaining safety or classroom participation in mainstream settings

Experience & Requirements

Required:

  • Active Special Education Teaching license (state-specific)

  • School-based experience preferred

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience working with diverse learning needs

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team
