Job Title: Reliability / Maintenance EngineerJob Description

This role focuses on supporting the maintenance department by managing the administrative and analytical functions of the maintenance program. You will administer the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), generate performance reports, support asset management, and collaborate closely with maintenance and accounting teams. By owning documentation, reporting, and system administration, you enable maintenance technicians and engineers to concentrate on equipment reliability, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the company’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as Lumin or similar platforms.

  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance performance reports that provide clear visibility into maintenance activities and outcomes.

  • Develop dashboards, presentations, and analytical reports using Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools to support data-driven decisions.

  • Monitor data quality within the CMMS and ensure that maintenance records, work orders, and asset histories are accurate, complete, and up to date.

  • Create and maintain equipment asset records, including assigning new asset numbers and ensuring consistency across systems.

  • Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure new equipment and capital assets are properly documented, tracked, and entered into company systems.

  • Support maintenance planning and reporting by providing accurate operational data, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance reporting processes, data integrity, and overall use of the CMMS.

  • Assist with maintenance documentation, including procedures, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Provide administrative and analytical support that allows maintenance technicians, engineers, and subject matter experts to remain focused on equipment troubleshooting and reliability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in maintenance, engineering, and accounting to align asset management and preventive maintenance activities.

  • Contribute to reliability engineering efforts by supporting preventive maintenance programs and asset management strategies in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Essential Skills

  • Background in Engineering, Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Controls, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience working in a maintenance or manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation.

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and data accuracy.

  • Ability to create professional presentations and management reports for various stakeholders.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, including maintenance and accounting.

  • Understanding of reliability engineering concepts, preventive maintenance, and asset management in an industrial context.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Lumin CMMS or similar maintenance management software.

  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, asset management, and preventive maintenance programs.

  • Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial maintenance operations.

  • Understanding of capital equipment tracking and coordination with accounting functions.

  • Exposure to mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or industrial engineering environments.

  • Experience in a foundry or similar heavy industrial setting.

Work Environment

The role is primarily desk-based, with most work performed in an office environment focused on systems, data, and reporting. You will occasionally walk the shop floor to observe equipment, verify asset information, and collaborate with maintenance and operations personnel in a manufacturing or industrial setting. The position involves regular use of CMMS software such as Lumin, Microsoft Excel, and other reporting tools to support maintenance and reliability activities.

This is a Contract position based out of Mapleton, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
