Job Description:

  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations.
  • Fosters a culture of psychological safety, where the team members feel supported, valued, empowered to speak up, share concerns, and contribute meaningfully.
  • Promotes evidence-based practice, ensuring quality outcomes, and fostering a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning.
  • Provides ongoing education and training to nursing staff to maintain high competency levels.
  • Prepares the unit for audits and surveys, by monitoring and maintaining unit compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting, hospital policies while coordinating staff education to maintain competencies and preparedness.
  • Manages nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns and provide guidance.
  • Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care.
  • Manages budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals.
  • Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, performance evaluations, and payroll functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have extensive knowledge of surgeries within multiple service lines. [Required]

  • Must poses strong organizational and logistic skills. [Required]

  • Ability to lead others. [Required]

  • Ability to function independently as an RNFA. [Required]

  • Is highly knowledgeable of the assigned service line(s). [Required] Education:

  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]

  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred] Field of Study:

  • Successful completion of an RNFA program sanctioned by AORN Work Experience:

  • 3+ experience as a registered nurse [Required]

  • 2+ years as rn in an acute or setting [Required]

  • Prior leadership experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred]
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$37.39 - $69.54 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
