SFS is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Process Intern Engineer to join our team in Wyomissing, PA. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on mentality, a passion for manufacturing processes, and a relentless drive for continuous improvement. As a Process Intern Engineer, you will play a key role in optimizing our manufacturing processes, improving productivity, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met. Additionally, you will be responsible for initiating and leading automation projects to further enhance our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze equipment performance and propose ideas to improve the efficiency and performance of the process.

  • Design and implement equipment and control devices to ensure the process efficiency and performance.

  • Collaborate with production engineering to improve quality.

  • Assist in development and implementation of a raking system for DipSpin Line.

  • Present findings and lessons learned to top management at the end of the internship.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and machinery if needed.

  • Assist with process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.

  • Work closely with department leaders and team members to identify opportunities for implementing digitization tools and technologies to streamline processes and improve data collection and analysis.

  • Initiate and lead automation projects to enhance productivity, reduce manual intervention, and improve overall process reliability.

  • Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting and resolving process-related issues on the production floor.

  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.

  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to manufacturing processes and automation.

  • Manage quality issues related to machine components

  • Follow QES (Quality, Environmental, Safety) standards and HR policies

The Ideal Candidate

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present technical information clearly and concisely.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
