Position: Full Time Memory Care Activity Coordinator
Location: Brandywine Mahwah 814 Wyckoff Ave, Mahwah, NJ 07430
Pay Range: $19.50 - $20.50 per hour
Final compensation will be based on experience and qualifications
Job Overview
The Memory Care Activity Director is responsible for developing and administering a comprehensive resident engagement and activity program to meet the needs, interests, and capabilities of the Residents within the Memory Care Neighborhood.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assumes the responsibility for the design and development of recreation and activity programs to meet the assessed needs, interests, and capabilities of the Residents in his neighborhood with the help of the Activity Director.
- Creates resident histories and profiles with family involvement. Summarizes information from histories. Shares information with associates as well as develop activities based on these interests
- Assumes responsibility for scheduling and coordinating miscellaneous social programs for Memory Care (i.e., educational programs, entertainment programs, special events, games, group programs, spiritual services, etc.)
- Creates a monthly social program calendar, has the calendars printed, and distributes them to community personnel and residents
- Coordinates programs with other departments in the community and interfaces with all personnel as appropriate
- With the help of the Activity Director seeks partnerships with local organizations to engage in programming at the community
- Assists with the development and provision of training and orientation programs for volunteers
- Drive the community vehicle for resident outings
- Participates in and attends all in-service training as scheduled
- Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

One to three years related experience and/or training in leading/creating activities for the elderly preferred

Experience working with individuals with Dementia and Alzheimer's preferred

High school diploma or higher education preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication

Exhibit strong time management and organizational skills

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Must work at least one weekend day a week
