Thompson Oncology Group (TOG) is a leader in medical oncology services and provides patients access to all proven, drug-based treatments and the latest clinical trial medicines. Our team of board-certified, fellowship-trained medical oncologists and certified advanced practice providers deliver on-site care and treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy, at affiliated infusion centers throughout our region.Team Nurse for busy Oncology physician and APP. Will work alongside providers offering support with placing routine orders in EMR, phone triage, completing FMLA, PAs, Disability paperwork as well as coordinating patient care and clinic responsibilities with LPN and/or CMAs and providing patient education.

Responsibilities

Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care/nursing home care.

Recommends interventions.

Evaluates plan of care.

Resolves problems regarding moderately complex issues without oversight or supervision.

Demonstrates active participation in unit or facility activities.

Demonstrates willingness to precept employees/students as directed. Reviews clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor.

Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.

Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
Must possess at least one (1) year of professional experience.
Licensure Requirement:
Valid Tennessee RN license. Fire/security, infection control, and CPR inservices are required .
Continuing Education:
Sixteen (16) contact hours required annually (8 to enhance clinical expertise); or twelve (12) contact hours required annually, plus ACLS or approved specialty certifications.
