Sample Technician

Turner Staffing Group is seeking Technician Samplers for an approximately 12-month contract assignment supporting mining operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring drill samples are accurately collected, labeled, and delivered for processing. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable working in demanding outdoor mining environments.

Responsibilities

• Tag sample bags with the correct identification.

• Verify that the correct bag IDs are used for the appropriate drill hole and footage.

• Collect drill samples every 10 feet from the drill sampler.

• Ensure sample bags are properly tagged and securely sealed.

• Deliver completed samples to the core shed at the end of each shift.

• Maintain a safe work environment by following all site safety procedures and company policies.

• Perform duties accurately while working in a fast-paced mining environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an open-pit or underground mining environment.

• Valid driver's license held for at least one year.

• Strong commitment to workplace safety.

• Ability to lift and carry sample bags weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work in challenging environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and uneven terrain.

• Reliable attendance and willingness to work rotating day and night shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Open-pit driving experience.

Schedule

• Schedule: 5-4 rotating schedule consisting of both day and night shifts.

• Assignment Length: Approximately 12 months.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
