Community Engagement Site Coordinator

Data Center Construction Project

Position Summary

The Community Engagement Site Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the construction project team, local community stakeholders, workforce partners, educational institutions, government agencies, and client representatives. This role is responsible for supporting community outreach initiatives, workforce development programs, local hiring efforts, public engagement activities, and communication strategies throughout the lifecycle of a data center construction project.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who can build strong relationships, coordinate community programs, and help ensure the project maintains a positive presence within the surrounding community.

Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach & Engagement

Serve as a primary point of contact for community organizations, local stakeholders, and workforce development partners.

Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and local businesses.

Coordinate outreach initiatives that promote community involvement and project awareness.

Support community events, public meetings, open houses, and project-related engagement activities.

Represent the project professionally during community interactions and stakeholder meetings.

Workforce Development & Local Hiring

Support local workforce development programs and skilled trades initiatives.

Coordinate with workforce agencies, trade schools, colleges, and apprenticeship programs.

Assist with promoting local employment opportunities associated with the project.

Track workforce participation metrics and community hiring goals.

Help facilitate career fairs, recruiting events, and workforce training initiatives.

Stakeholder Communication

Prepare and distribute project communications, newsletters, and community updates.

Coordinate responses to community inquiries and concerns.

Maintain communication logs and stakeholder contact databases.

Assist leadership in communicating project milestones, impacts, and community benefits.

Ensure communication efforts align with client and company objectives.

Event Planning & Coordination

Organize community engagement events, volunteer activities, educational tours, and workforce development programs.

Coordinate schedules, logistics, vendors, and event materials.

Track attendance and participation metrics for community programs.

Support project leadership during public-facing events and presentations.

Assist with preparation of event reports and post-event feedback.

Reporting & Data Management

Maintain records related to community outreach activities and workforce initiatives.

Track key performance indicators related to local hiring, workforce development, and community engagement.

Prepare reports and presentations for project leadership and clients.

Manage stakeholder databases and communication records.

Assist with documentation required for client reporting and compliance initiatives.

Client & Public Relations Support

Support implementation of project-specific community engagement strategies.

Promote positive relationships between the project and surrounding communities.

Coordinate charitable initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and community partnerships.

Assist with public relations efforts connected to project milestones and community investment activities.

Ensure all engagement activities reflect company values and client expectations.

Administrative Support

Schedule meetings and coordinate stakeholder engagement activities.

Prepare meeting agendas, notes, and follow-up action items.

Maintain project calendars related to community outreach initiatives.

Support budget tracking for engagement programs and events.

Manage administrative tasks associated with workforce and community programs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Community Development, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

2+ years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, workforce development, project coordination, public relations, or related fields.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong relationship-building and interpersonal abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Strong organizational and project coordination skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting construction, infrastructure, energy, technology, or economic development projects.

Experience working with workforce development organizations, educational institutions, or government agencies.

Familiarity with local hiring initiatives and community investment programs.
