Job Title:

Light Equipment Operator Journey

Job Description:

Operators light equipment including but not limited to fork lifts, dump trucks, fuel trucks, and trailer trucks. Typically requires a minimum of 48 months of industrial construction experience.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience operating heavy civil construction equipment.

  • Experience with dozers, excavators, graders, loaders, haul trucks, articulated trucks, compactors, rollers, scrapers, backhoes, or similar equipment.

  • Strong commitment to Bechtel's Zero Incident Philosophy.

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively

  • Monitor and oversee autonomous heavy civil equipment operations to ensure safe, efficient, and productive performance.

  • Operate equipment manually when required by project conditions or autonomous system requirements.

  • Support safe interaction between personnel and autonomous equipment within active construction environments.

  • Participate in Construction Work Planning and Control activities.

  • Maintain compliance with Bechtel ES&H Core Processes, Life Critical Requirements, project procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform pre-shift, post-shift, and daily inspections.

  • Check and top off approved fluids.

  • Perform routine lubrication of designated grease points.

  • Inspect cameras, sensors, communication systems, and autonomous operating components.

  • Maintain cleanliness of operator stations, access points, windows, mirrors, cameras, sensors, tracks, undercarriage components, and track assemblies.

  • Report equipment discrepancies to field supervision and designated maintenance resources.

  • Complete required reports, timesheets, logs, and inspections.

  • Utilize company-issued tablets and software applications for reporting and communication.

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, fluid additions, lubrication activities, and operational findings.

  • Experience operating autonomous or semi-autonomous construction equipment.

  • Familiarity with machine guidance, telematics, fleet management, and remote monitoring systems.

  • Experience on large industrial, infrastructure, energy, mining, or civil projects.

100% travel and relocation.
