What's the role?

Reporting directly to the Head of Domain Architecture Digital Product and Publishing, as the Digital Solution Architect, you will be instrumental in designing and executing solution architectures that align seamlessly with our overarching enterprise strategy. The primary purpose of this role is to architect robust, scalable, and highly efficient technology solutions that directly solve complex business challenges. Beyond immediate project design, you will be responsible for defining target state architectures and successfully driving the creation of our long-term architectural vision and roadmap.

You will play a pivotal role in driving digital innovation, establishing reusable architectural components, and guiding the strategic procurement of enterprise technology assets. Operating as a high-impact, autonomous leader, you will ensure every new platform acquires maximum business benefit while maintaining adherence to local and global standards across security, privacy, and AI. While you will act as a vital guiding force across multiple cross-functional domains, the role currently has no direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Direct solution architecture across a scaling portfolio, encompassing Mobile Apps, Web, digital publishing platforms, personalisation engines, and AI initiatives.

  • Partner with business leaders and engineering teams to translate complex requirements into actionable, clearly defined architectures.

  • Develop high-level and detailed designs prioritising enterprise scalability, robust security, performance, and long-term maintainability.

  • Make authoritative decisions on technological investments, balancing cost-efficiency, technical compatibility, and strategic viability.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and collaborate tightly with cloud and development teams to flawlessly integrate architectural components.

Who are you?

  • 6+ years in Architecture & Design, including 2+ years leading the architecture for large-scale, strategic projects.

  • Extensive experience across modern platforms, design frameworks, frontend/backend paradigms, native mobile apps, CMS, and CDN/WAF functions.

  • Proven track record of designing well-architected cloud solutions, with hands-on AWS experience being highly desirable.

  • Targeted expertise in designing solutions that leverage AI, Machine Learning, and LLM capabilities to significantly enhance business outcomes.

  • Highly capable of simplifying and presenting complex technical solutions to win the confidence of executive stakeholders and sponsors.

  • Holding a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent practical experience. Prior exposure to the media or digital publishing sector is a strong advantage.
