Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a PRN Registered Nurse to join our team at APEX Vascular in Lenoir City TN Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Conducts thorough assessments of patients’ health status, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and evaluating vital signs.

  • Develops and implements individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.

  • Monitors patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.

  • Administers medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.

  • Monitors patients for adverse reactions and effectiveness of treatments.

  • Performs and interprets diagnostic tests, such as blood draws, ECGs, and other relevant procedures.

  • Assists with the preparation and coordination of any additional testing as needed.

  • Provides education and counseling to patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, treatments, and progress notes; ensures documentation is compliant with clinic policies and regulatory standards.

  • Coordinates care with other healthcare providers, including referrals to specialists, scheduling follow-up appointments, and managing patient care transitions.

  • Adheres to infection control protocols and ensures a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.

  • Maintains required certifications, licenses, registries and designations required for the role.

  • Works collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.

  • Maintains a safe workplace by following established safety protocols, reporting hazards, and participating in required safety training.

  • When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.

  • Fosters a team-oriented environment by encouraging cooperation, providing support, and resolving conflicts constructively.

  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and respect in all interactions.

  • Follows processes and policies for the organization.

  • Reports to work as scheduled, ready to perform duties, and promptly notifies their supervisor of any attendance issues.

  • Adapts to changing priorities, processes, and business needs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of patient care principles and practices.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes, and standards related to the area of responsibility.

  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories relevant to the assigned functional area.

  • Working knowledge of Office 365 programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Working knowledge of EMR systems.

  • Skill in clinical assessment and critical thinking to support safe and effective patient care.

  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

  • Skill in using electronic health records and other relevant medical software to document and manage patient information.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing in English, to various audiences.

  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in nursing.

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of practice.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • If the individual in the role will drive for work purposes, a current valid state driver’s license and required minimum auto insurance coverage.
