Full job description

Our client, a leading oil and gas organization, is seeking a Senior Financial SOX Auditor consultant from July through February to provide support to their Finance and SOX Compliance teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, effective communication capabilities, and attention to detail.

Job Title: Senior Financial SOX Auditor

Location: Hybrid – The Woodlands, TX

Pay Rate: $50+/hour (W2, based on experience)

What’s the Job?

  • Perform SOX testing across financial processes to ensure compliance with Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) requirements.

  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of financial controls and identify deficiencies and remediation actions.

  • Support end-to-end financial controls, including documentation, walkthroughs, and risk assessments.

  • Coordinate with internal audit, finance, and external auditors to support SOX program execution and audit activities.

  • Drive process improvements and ongoing compliance monitoring to enhance the control environment.

What’s Needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of five years of related internal audit and financial SOX experience.

  • Extensive experience with Financial SOX, ICFR, and SOX compliance programs.

  • Strong financial accounting expertise, preferably within the oil and gas industry.

  • Ability to work onsite in The Woodlands, Texas, 4 days/week with a hybrid schedule.
