General Summary
Responds to EMS calls and performs a variety of functions related to the care and treatment of patients suffering from urgent and emergent disease and/or injury states in accordance with appropriate rules, regulations, and protocols. according to PA DOH EMS Act and scope of practice.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:

Responds to EMS calls whether emergency or routine transport, observes safety policies and operates an emergency vehicle with due regard for others.

Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members.
-
Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment.
-
Prepares, hangs, monitors, and discontinues I.V. fluids.
-
Responds to emergency non-emergency calls as an Advanced Life Support Provider when appropriate, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH) EMS protocols.

Driver's License Statement:
Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
Courses and Training:
- Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course (EVOC); National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100, 200, 700, 800 – Hazardous Materials Awareness. Upon Hire Required
