Job Summary
The main duty of a Project Manager (PM) is to estimate and manage HVACR, plumbing, and mechanical projects fromvconception to completion, while monitoring compliance with G.E. Mechanical quality and safety standards and all applicable regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for quantity take-offs, cost estimating, cost analysis, bid reviews and document management primarily for commercial and industrial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Creating competitive and accurate estimates to achieve margin, sales goals, and financial targets
Utilize centralized cost estimating models to ensure current and strategic pricing data is used during proposal development
Follow-up with potential clients to finalize the work agreement
Execute projects to the standard set by G.E. Mechanical
Coordinate with Construction Coordinator to obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
Schedule and manage resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
Develop, coordinate and track project schedules
Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
Supervise and interface with team members to ensure projects are delivered per estimates, as well as guiding technicians to provide necessary information to complete estimates when a site visit is not feasible
Identify resources, assign workloads and manage schedules to ensure timely deliveries
Address business inquiries from customer and team members in a professional manner
Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
Collaborate across functions to manage cost and price factors influencing customer acquisition, retention, and revenue
Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
Process client invoicing promptly
Generating leads and new customers
Meeting all key performance metrics and sales/profit goals
Identify areas of improvements and concerns in his or her field team and accordingly develop action plans
Ensure that team work in compliance with company policies and procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field OR
2 years’ experience in project management and/or estimating in construction, mechanical, or related industry
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years’ experience with HVAC and plumbing equipment estimates and projects
Possess skill and understanding in conceptual estimating
In-depth understanding of estimating & construction procedures and material and project management principles
Communication and negotiation skills
Attention to detail and organization
Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets
Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures
Experience managing budgets and schedules for construction projects
Ability to work as a team player
Verbal & written communication skills
Advanced knowledge of estimating software, strategies and techniques
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook
