Fall Event Attendant $16.90/HR

Overview:

Greetings! Are you ready to join a spooktacular celebration? Discovery Kingdom is looking for attendants for annual Oktoberfest and Tricks N Treats events!

• Oktoberfest Attendants – Team members roam the event area and assist talent as needed. They report directly to the Oktoberfest Stage Manager.

• Tricks N Treats Door Activators – Team members are stationed at themed doors where children come to knock. They distribute candy and restock their candy supply as needed throughout the event. They report directly to the Tricks N Treats Stage Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Entertain park Guests in a professional manner. Ensure a positive experience for every Guest

• Controlling crowds and interacting with Guests in a supportive and understanding role

• Maintain and clean Stadiums, Show Venues and Backstage areas

• Work Private Events or Shows as assigned

• Ensure that safety of Guests, animals and performers are maintained

• Maintaining “show illusion” and belief of character at all times for our Guests

• Other duties as requested

Qualifications:

• The ability to confidently perform and speak in front of a large crowd

• The skills to improvise interactions with Guests and licensed characters is applicable

• The ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal communication

• Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age

Physical Requirements:

• Constantly standing, talking, climbing, walking, reaching, using finger movement, grasping,feeling, speaking clearly, hearing conversation, using hearing acuity, seeing near far, stooping,bending, kneeling

• Working in extreme heat, sun, cold, wetness, humidity and temperature change

• Must be able to carry 5 to 10 lbs.

• All lifts over 51 lbs. require help from a coworker or mechanical device

• Overtime of adults may be required from time to time to accommodate the business need

• Crowd control at Show Venues and Stadiums

• Cleaning and maintenance of Show Venues and Stadiums

• Greeting and directing Guests at shows

• Interacting with Guests at Show Venues and Stadiums through games and crowd work

• Assisting Guests by providing expert park knowledge
