Full job description
Job Duties
The Direct Service Professional advances the skills of individuals with disabilities by providing assistance with personal enrichment, social and community engagement. These supports are provided on-site or in the community. Provides daily guidance and support to ensure goals of participants are met.
The Direct Service Professional also plans and prepares class curriculum/lesson plans and teaches classes. Assists with inter-personal skill development. Completes case notes in a timely and accurate manner. Assists with personal care needs and supports of consumers as needed.
Minimum Education Required
*High School diploma or general education degree (GED) with further training in health/rehabilitation preferred. Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successfully complete DHS background study prior to beginning employment.
*CPR and 1st Aid training provided once hired.
*Possess valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; insurable at non-risk rates.
