Description

The Manager role is set up as a senior level individual with hands-on focus and self-starting engineer who thrives in a fast-paced innovation environment.

It will be responsible for driving filling process development across our product portfolio — spanning skincare, color cosmetics, fragrance, and packaging — operating complex manufacturing and pilot equipment to accelerate industrialization and deliver engineering innovation. You will work cross-functionally with Formulation, Process Development, Packaging, Quality, Commercialization, and Manufacturing Engineering teams, and travel to manufacturing sites to hand off processes developed during work.

The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of mechanical systems (filling and process equipment), materials, and equipment controls, and can apply that knowledge to think critically, solve complex problems, and engineer clever, practical solutions in a manufacturing and pilot environment.

The manager role is expected to actively drive and accelerate the industrialization of complex product forms — owning the full journey from pilot to manufacturing with a right-first-time mindset. They bring the intellectual rigor to break down complex, ambiguous challenges back to first principles, and the hands-on discipline to build and execute targeted learning plans and DOEs that address those challenges and unlock innovation. This role also carries real opportunities to create new intellectual property, contributing to a growing portfolio of proprietary processes and technologies that define our competitive edge in prestige beauty.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR currently pursuing / recently completed a Master's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or Engineering with demonstrated hands-on lab or process development experience — preferably in cosmetics, personal care, pharma, or a related consumer goods industry

  • Proven ability to independently operate complex pilot or manufacturing filling equipment

  • Strong proficiency in DOE methodology and statistical data analysis

  • Experience working in GMP-regulated environments

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Solidworks or similar engineering design tools

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of electro-mechanical systems and how they interact within manufacturing and filling equipment

  • Strong knowledge of materials relevant to filling processes (metals, plastics, elastomers, etc.) and their behavior under process conditions, including a deep understanding of cosmetic ingredients and product forms (emulsions, gels, powders, waxes, etc.), fluid rheology, and viscosity behavior and how these properties influence filling equipment process parameters, and line performance. Familiarity with equipment controls and automation — able to read, interpret, and troubleshoot control logic and system behavior

  • Ability to quickly understand how complex manufacturing equipment works and identify opportunities for optimization or innovation

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to interface confidently with peers and present technical data to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Willingness and ability to travel to manufacturing sites for process handovers (approximately 10–15% travel)
