Job Title & Location
Data Quality Manager – Africa & Middle East
Cairo, Egypt
Role Purpose
The Manager of Panel Data Quality is the critical link between Client Service and Operations, keeping Worldpanel International's household consumer panel data across Africa and the Middle East both technically sound and client ready. You will translate complex data issues into clear, actionable insight for client-facing teams, while owning the integrity of the panel data behind every insight we deliver.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Service & Stakeholder Partnership
-
Expert Advisory: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Client Service teams, providing guidance on complex data quality matters and methodology in terms they can act on.
-
Stakeholder Management: Balance the high-pressure needs of Client Service with the practical constraints of Operations, negotiating solutions that satisfy both quality and delivery timelines.
- Data Production & Monthly Sign-off
-
Release Validation: Review and sign off on monthly data production for the MENA region, ensuring all trends are logical and data is market ready.
-
Outlier Management: Identify and investigate statistical outliers, recommending and implementing data adjustments where necessary.
- Investigations & Troubleshooting
-
Root Cause Analysis: Lead deep-dive investigations into data discrepancies or client-reported issues.
-
Collaborative Resolution: Work closely with the Operations team to implement fixes for identified data quality gaps.
- Innovation & Process Enhancement
-
Technical Evolution: Identify and track new technical solutions to automate or improve current manual processes.
-
Panel Modernization: Support new panel launches and enhancements with expertise in Field Management and Product Dictionaries.
Core Competencies & Capabilities
We are looking for a proactive leader who balances analytical skepticism with commercial diplomacy. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Analytical Rigor & Quality Ownership
-
Investigates the "why" behind trends to distinguish genuine market shifts from collection errors.
-
Acts as the last line of defense for data accuracy, focusing on root-cause fixes rather than symptom management.
- Strategic Influence & Change Leadership
-
A self-starter who proactively sets the agenda, anticipates issues before they arise, and troubleshoots root causes to suggest process enhancements.
-
Understands how operational changes ripple across the wider business and can lead teams through transitions independently.
- Stakeholder Diplomacy & Communication
-
Balances commercial urgency with operational constraints, giving Client Service the clear answers they need for client discussions.
-
A versatile communication style – equally able to explain complex data issues to non-technical stakeholders and to build strong internal networks.
Prerequisites
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following foundational technical and industry competencies:
Core:
-
Fundamental Understanding of Market Research: A strong grasp of panel methodologies, sampling techniques, and the nuances of consumer behavior data.
-
Background with market research particularly in analyzing data and managing client requests.
-
Ability to extract and wrangle data from multiple sources into clean, usable formats.
-
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills for stakeholder reporting.
-
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
-
Strong communication skills
Nice to have:
-
Familiarity with data cleaning pipelines and anomaly detection.
-
Basic statistics (distributions, significance testing).
-
Python for data wrangling or analysis.
