As a Pharmacy Intern at Lutheran Hospital, you will develop knowledge and skills in pharmacy. You will gain hands-on experience through direct patient interactions, team collaboration and proper dosing training, preparing you for a bright and exciting future in healthcare.

A caregiver in this position works rotating days/evenings from 8:00AM - 4:30PM or 1:00PM - 9:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug related issues.
  • Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
  • Compound and prepare medications for delivery to patient care areas.
  • Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
  • Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Current enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy Program meeting education requirements to qualify for an Intern License in the State of Ohio OR international pharmacy experience meeting the requirements to qualify for the Foreign Graduate Pharmacy Intern License
  • Current State Board of Pharmacy Intern License (PH/INT) before hire
