Description: Job Title: Emergency Technician

Employment Type: Per Diem Shift: Mixed/Varied depending on department need Location: St. Mary Medical Center – Langhorne, PA

Position Purpose

The Emergency Technician functions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to support the delivery of high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department. This role assists the healthcare team by providing direct and indirect patient care, maintaining equipment and supplies, and supporting clinical and clerical operations.

As an Emergency Technician, you will:

  • Perform direct and indirect patient care activities in accordance with RN/LPN direction, physician orders, and established policies

  • Assist with procedures including specimen collection, ostomy care, glucose monitoring, and application of orthopedic or protective devices

  • Obtain and record vital signs, assist with patient hygiene, feeding, and mobility support

  • Perform 12-lead EKGs and phlebotomy procedures accurately

  • Communicate patient status and concerns to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner

  • Assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures, tests, and consultations

  • Participate in trauma calls and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members during emergencies

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

  • BLS Certification

  • EMT certification or Medical Assistant certification OR is within the final year of a nursing school program

  • Prior Emergency Technician experience preferred
