Our Consumer & Lifestyle team currently serves category-leading brands across F&B, High-Street, Beauty and Entertainment, including world-renowned food and drink brands, global betting and gaming clients, men's lifestyle and fashion retailers, and more. The Consumer & Lifestyle team also frequently works with our travel team who represent numerous tourism boards, hotels and airlines.

With award-winning client work in brand campaigns, product PR, influencer relations and thought leadership, our ambition is to grow our creative firepower and work with global household brands in the UK and globally in tandem with our 40+ offices around the world.

The Role

This is a role for someone who is digitally native, culturally curious and genuinely passionate about sport and the brands that surround it.

As Account Manager, you will be an active day-to-day lead across a portfolio of dynamic consumer accounts spanning the sports betting and gaming sector, men's lifestyle and fashion retail, and more. You will manage client relationships with confidence, oversee social media programmes, and work closely with senior team members to develop and deliver creative campaigns that earn coverage, build audiences and drive results.

Reporting to Account Supervisors and Vice Presidents, you will be joining a team in an exciting period of growth, with real scope to develop your skills across new sectors and take on increasing responsibility as the practice expands.

The Account Manager will initially work primarily across the following areas:

  • Two leading UK sports betting and gaming brands, where the role requires strong knowledge of football and wider sports culture, and the ability to develop reactive, culturally relevant content and PR at pace.

  • A men's lifestyle and fashion e-commerce brand, supporting consumer PR, influencer activity and editorial media relations for a brand with a loyal and growing UK audience.

Primary Responsibilities

Social media marketing

  • Develop and execute social media content plans and calendars for client accounts

  • Identify, brief and manage relationships with influencers and content creators

  • Coordinate with third-party service providers (e.g. production, design, paid social, talent agencies)

  • Monitor social and cultural conversation to identify timely content opportunities

  • Oversee content production for social channels, from briefing through to publishing

  • Track and report on social media performance against agreed KPIs

Account & Staff Management

  • Oversee day-to-day client projects and/or events

  • Develop and cultivate relationship with clients and external audiences

  • Assist in the management of account administration duties such as billing and financial reporting

  • Recommend and implement initiatives that improve the public's perception of the client

  • Handle special media inquiries

  • Develop materials on complex issues (e.g., Q&As, speeches, collateral materials)

  • Partner with client and other communications firms (i.e., ad agencies) to develop and complete communications plan

  • Review materials (e.g., pitch letters, news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, newsletters) prepared by Senior Account Executives, Account Executives or Assistant Account Executives

  • Allocate and prioritise workload across junior team members to ensure deadlines are met

  • Coach and mentor junior staff, providing regular feedback on performance and development

  • Develop tailored staff development plans for junior staff working under your supervision

  • Contribute to performance reviews and appraisals for junior team members

  • Support recruitment, onboarding and induction of new junior staff

  • Act as a first point of escalation and day-to-day support for junior team members

Media Relations

  • Develop, pitch and place positive stories by and about the client in appropriate business, trade and consumer media

  • Cultivate positive client presence in media through proactive and reactive pitches and releases

New Business

  • Research, assist and present new business proposals

  • Develop original research, surveys, and market studies for existing and new business proposals

  • Develop complete communications plans for clients

Skills Required

Social media

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, formats and best practice

  • Influencer and creator relationship management

  • Ability to brief and manage external suppliers and production partners

  • Content planning and scheduling

  • Comfort interpreting social/analytics data to inform strategy

PR & communications

  • Excellent consumer and brand knowledge

  • A nose for a great story, whether for traditional media or new media

  • Strong writing and presentation skills for varied audiences

  • Existing media and trade contacts in relevant fields

  • Enthusiasm and a desire to be involved in award winning PR and social media campaigns

Recommended Background

Experience

  • Extensive professional experience with a minimum of 3 years of agency experience, spanning both social marketing and earned-first communications (PR).

  • Experience running social media programmes for consumer brands

  • Experience managing influencer or creator partnerships

  • In-depth knowledge of media relations from key trade publications to national outlets

Knowledge & tools

  • Broad understanding of public relations

  • Broad understanding of industry practice and client

  • Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools

Qualifications

  • University degree
