Full job description

About Runlayer AI is transforming how every company operates, but most enterprises are stuck. They want to move fast with AI Agents, tools, and workflows, but they can't do it safely. We're fixing that.

Our team built AI Actions for OpenAI, shipped Zapier Agents to millions of users, and launched the first remote MCP server with Anthropic. We helped establish the protocol, and now we're building the platform enterprises need to actually put AI to work.

Runlayer is one platform for MCPs, Skills, and Agents : purpose-built security, fine-grained governance, and complete observability so organizations can go all-in on AI across the entire company without the risk. We just raised a $30M Series A led by Felicis, with participation from Khosla Ventures, bringing our total raised to $42M. Already trusted by Gusto, Instacart, Opendoor, dbt Labs, and Decagon.

About the Role As our Developer Relations Lead, you'll own Runlayer's physical presence in the developer and enterprise AI communities. You'll manage our sponsorships and booth presence at major conferences while building a community that our customers want to be part of.

Why You'll Thrive Here

  • Impact: Own how Runlayer shows up at every conference that matters in the AI and enterprise infrastructure space

  • Excellence : Work with a team that treats end user love & events as a core GTM motion

  • Ownership: Own conference strategy, DevRel programming, and community presence end-to-end

What You'll Do

  • Own major conference presence: AWS re:Invent, AI Engineer World's Fair, MCP Dev Summit, RSA, and others

  • Run DevRel events: meetups, hackathons, dinners, and technical workshops for MCP developers and platform engineers

  • Manage booth strategy, speaking slots, side events, and customer dinners at conferences

  • Build and nurture the technical community around Runlayer and the MCP ecosystem

  • Create technical content and demos that can travel to events

  • Partner with engineering and product to bring technical credibility to every event

  • Drive partner co-marketing activations at events (Cursor, 1Password, Anthropic, etc.)

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years in developer relations, technical community, or technical events at B2B SaaS, infra, or AI companies

  • Technical background. You can hold your own in a room with senior engineers and have written code at some point in your career.

  • Proven experience running major conference sponsorships and booth operations end-to-end

  • Strong taste for what makes events memorable vs forgettable (Vercel, Stripe, Linear as reference points)

  • Comfortable on stage and in front of technical audiences; able to deliver demos and talks when needed

  • Network in the developer, AI, or infrastructure communities

Bonus Qualifications

  • Direct experience with MCP, AI agents, or LLM tooling

  • Background as an engineer before moving into DevRel

  • Track record of building technical communities from scratch

  • Experience running hackathons or technical workshops

  • Competitive salary and equity — compensation that reflects your expertise and customer-facing responsibilities.

  • Paid time off — paid vacation, paid sick leave, and paid parental leave.
