Full job description
There is an opening for Computer Support Assistant in the Information Technology Department of East Irondequoit CSD. This position is 12 months, working Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. This is an entry-level computer support position responsible for assisting and supporting users with their technology needs such as hardware and software installation, troubleshooting and training users.
Job responsibilities are but not limited to the following:

Support IT inventory, asset management and surplus.

Provide technical support for district staff and students' technology needs, including laptops, iPads, interactive panels, webcams, basic phone and printer/copier issues.

Assist with setting up technology for new staff, including MFA (multi-factor authentication) and device configuration.

Support district technology goals and participate in special projects or initiatives assigned by IT leadership.

Troubleshoot device and software issues.

Process broken devices for repair.

Windows/iOS Updates on devices.

Provide tech support for summer programs.

Provide support for Computer Based Testing.
Job Qualifications
The Civil Service title of Computer Support Assistant or eligible for the title of Computer Support Assistant is required. Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) One (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience providing computer support to users, including diagnosing software and hardware problems and resolving problems, or training, instructing or providing explanation to users in basic hardware and software methods and principles; OR, (B) Successful completion of nine (9) college semester credit hours in a computer science or information technology field; OR, (C) Possession of a CompTIA A+, Microsoft Office Specialist, or Google IT Support Professional Certification; OR, (D) An equivalent combination of education or experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C).
Ability to lift 25 to 50 lbs.
