Community Medical & Dental Care, Inc., is a non-profit community health center serving the medically-underserved population of Rockland County, NY. We offer linguistically-diverse and culturally sensitive health care to our patients. Community Medical & Dental Care, Inc., has over 60 healthcare providers who offer a wide range of services including Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Practice, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Dentistry/Oral Surgery, Allergy, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Nutrition Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Podiatry, Speech Therapy, and Urology.

Community Medical and Dental Care, is seeking an experienced Family, Pediatric, or Specialty, Nurse Practitioner. for a full-time or part-time position. We offer a very competitive hourly rate and a wonderful working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team to provide examination and treatment of patients.

  • Perform assessment and treatment of acute injuries, infections, and illnesses.

  • Prescribe and interpret appropriate lab tests to gain more information for possible infections or abnormalities.

  • Keep and maintain appropriate records relating to all professional services rendered.

  • Prepare and review reports, claims, and correspondences. Ensure that records and documentation are in compliance with Federal and State regulations.

  • Provide in-office and telemedicine services to patients.

  • Prescribe medication and treatment for patients.

  • Recommend appropriate physical and dietary routines and methods for disease prevention and maintaining personal hygiene.

  • Refer patients to other physicians or appropriate resources when needed.

  • Follow up on all outside referrals, labs, and consults.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of at least 2 years as a PA

  • Ability to establish a healthy rapport with patients and their families.

  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to independently evaluate patients, establish differential diagnoses, order necessary tests/investigations as appropriate, and formulate treatment plans.

  • Practice evidence-based medicine and update medical knowledge based on the latest treatment guidelines and recommendations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
