Full job description
Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Special Education Teacher to work at a facility in Lakeville, MN.
Pay Rate: $47.50 / hour
Shift Details:
- 9:25am - 3:55pm
Special Education Teacher
A center-based special education teacher at Lakeville Area Schools is responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), providing specialized instruction in core subjects, and collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families. They must hold or be eligible for a Minnesota Special Education license and assess student progress to provide necessary accommodations and modifications. This role requires the teacher to ensure students receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment possible.
Key responsibilities

IEP development: Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student to meet their specific needs. • Instructional delivery: Provide specialized instruction, adapt general education lessons, and teach various subjects tailored to students with disabilities.

Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success and ensure a collaborative approach to education.

Assessment: Assess student progress and provide necessary accommodations and modifications to support their learning.

Compliance: Ensure students are provided with a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE) possible, following all procedures and protecting student rights.
Qualifications

Must possess or be eligible for a Special Education license in the state of Minnesota.

Preferred licensure areas may include Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ABS). Salary and benefits
