Full job description

Description

Install, repair and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, equipment and fixtures. Will perform work underground and above ground doing cable and conduit installations. May assist and lead second class electricians to ensure safety.

  • Oversee all safety rules with oversight of co-workers to ensure compliance

  • Inspects designated work areas for hazards

  • Oversees the inspection and testing of all electrical equipment to ensure safe performance

  • Oversees the installation and maintenance of equipment with oversight of co-workers to ensure compliance

  • Comply with all state and local electrical codes

  • Spotting on all activities

  • Elevated work under 6ft or 6ft and higher

  • Interpret drawings

  • Temp power connections

  • Hand excavation and backfill for U/G duct bank

  • Install U/G duct tape raceways

  • Install U/G duct tape raceways trenway

  • Ground grid trenching and backfill

  • Bonding ground grip (crimping and cad-weld)

  • A/G conduit installation (EMT, alum, rigid, plastibond)

  • Cable tray installation (Alum, galv, and fiber glass)

  • Cable pulls (COMMO, LV and MV)

  • Cable meg

  • Cable continuity testing (phone out)

  • Cable communication terminations

  • Cable LV and MV terminations

  • Install light fixtures, field junction boxes, A/C and D/C power panel, transformers (15-45kV), MCC, UPS system, VFD, PLC, LV and MV switchgear

  • Working on energized equipment

  • Trouble shooting

  • Motor terminations

  • Motor rotation checks

  • Installation of heat trace cable

  • LOOP checks

  • Start up and commission

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience

  • Must be able to assess through Burns and McDonnell assessment program

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, or reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, push and pull

  • Ability to use repetitive hand motions and the ability to grasp and operate field tools and equipment

  • Ability to climb on, in or through equipment in confined spaces and elevated work using fall protection harnesses

  • Ability to work long hours with infrequent days off, night shifts, and in adverse climates

  • Ability to use respirators or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus

  • Ability to utilize vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Ability to lift, carry and or move up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to work in an environment with loud noises and vibrations for extended periods of time

  • Ability to properly wear and/or use Personal Protection Equipment

COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
