Industrial Electrician, Preston, GA

As an Industrial Electrician in Preston, GA , you'll play a critical role in keeping our sawmill running safely and efficiently by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.

As part of our maintenance team, you'll apply your electrical, troubleshooting, and PLC expertise to minimize downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support production performance. Top Pay & Incentives:

  • Pay Range: $28.36 to $39.55 per hour based on skill level and experience.

  • $1.25 per hour Night Shift Differential

  • Quarterly Gainshare Bonus (performance based)

What You’ll Do

  • Perform electrical repair and improvement projects throughout the mill.

  • Read and understand electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and blueprints.

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), AC drives, motors, and other control systems.

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime.

  • Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring equipment is properly isolated before work begins.

  • Effectively manage and plan work assignments with minimal direct supervision.

  • Submit work requests and complete work orders detailing work performed, parts used, and time required.

  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience or a technical degree in a related field.

  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment.

  • Working knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electrical distribution systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

  • Manufacturing, sawmill, lumber, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work around moving equipment and machinery.

  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and call-ins as needed.
