Job Title: Maintenance Technician III
Job Description
Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and utilities, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls systems. Serve as a technical resource for complex or recurring equipment failures, providing root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions. Execute and support preventive and predictive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and asset life. Lead or support equipment changeovers, installations, rebuilds, and modifications to support operational needs and continuous improvement. Mentor and support Maintenance Technician I and II team members through on-the-job training and knowledge sharing. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility and utility systems including HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, plumbing, steam, electrical distribution, and wastewater-related equipment, as applicable. Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards, food safety requirements, GMPs, and company policies. Document work orders, repairs, inspections, and parts usage accurately in the CMMS. Support FSQA inspections, audits, and corrective actions related to equipment condition and maintenance practices. Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality work. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.

Essential Skills

Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic PLC systems.

Ability to independently diagnose and repair complex equipment issues.

Troubleshooting, mechanical, preventive maintenance, repair, PLC troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics.

Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.

5+ years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Experience in food manufacturing or regulated environments preferred.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Rutherford, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
