About the Role:

Perform the duties required by the maintenance department as assigned such as Building and Grounds Maintenance, HVAC Systems, Plumbing/Pipefitting, Mechanical Systems, Overhead Lift Systems, Rigging, Fabrication, Carpentry, Hydraulics, Painting, Oiling, Machine/Equipment Maintenance & Repair.

What You Will Do:

  • Investigate, determine, and perform all maintenance and repairs required on all Solar equipment and facility items. Construct, devise, alter, and modify new facilities and devices as assigned. Perform preventative maintenance on required facility equipment.

  • Perform machining operations and bench work as well as layouts and sketches as required to carry out the duties as described.

  • Use necessary tools and equipment to accomplish assigned tasks, including acetylene and oxygen torches for the purpose of silver soldering, brazing and torch cutting for the purpose of repairs, plumbing or heating of shafts, hubs or bearings related to facility items as required in the performance of, assigned tasks.

  • In addition, mechanics may use a volt ohmmeter or other instruments as required to troubleshoot and repair low voltage control circuits, such as 110-volt AC and 24-volt DC within a unit up to the transformer. Other assigned tasks by leadership.

What You Have:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

  • 1 year of maintenance experience

  • Hand tools and Power Tools

  • 2+ years in skilled trade of carpentry or plumbing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with building maintenance is a plus.

  • Drywall and carpentry experience.

  • Certification in skilled trades

  • Minimum of 3 years related experience with mechanical, plumbing, and building systems.

Comp Range:

$23.10 - $41.37

Compensation and benefits may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market, location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
