Full job description
Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift
Description: Registered Nurse preferred Full-Time (1.0 FTE) 80 Hours Biweekly 8 Hour Day Shift
POSITION PURPOSE Ensures that all pertinent clinical and financial information is obtained and routed to appropriate individuals before admission of the patient. Collaborates with Rehab physician and manager to determine appropriate level of care. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Values of MercyOne ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs patient screening to determine appropriate level of care based on admission criteria.
- Completes all necessary reimbursement activities.
- Coordinates patient transfers.
- Completes various business reports.
- Develops and maintains effective communication with patients, families, referral sources, and rehab program team members to enhance patient census.
- Effectively develops referral patterns to ensure market share and standing as a regional provider.
- Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s Degree required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or bachelor’s level in health related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Current Iowa RN license or applicable license/certification.
- Mandatory Reporter.
- BLS.
- FIM.
- Valid Iowa driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing or rehabilitation experience required.
- High language, intermediate math, high reasoning ability.
- Personal computer, Excel, Windows, Outlook.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to work under pressure and with a large degree of independence.
- Good people skills.
