Position Position: QA Automation Engineer Location: Cluj (Hybrid)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, high energy QA Automation Engineer to join the team and contribute to the design and quality of NetProfiler, Riverbed’s flagship network performance analytics platform.

NetProfiler sits at the center of how our customers understand what is happening across their networks in real time. It processes and analyzes massive volumes of network flow data to deliver deep visibility into traffic patterns, application behavior, and performance anomalies at scale. This is a highly technical, high-impact product that blends large-scale data processing, real-time analytics, and advanced detection capabilities.

On this team, you will be working on a platform that helps global enterprises quickly identify issues, understand root cause, and make informed decisions about their network and application performance. It is a complex system with meaningful engineering challenges, where quality, performance, and accuracy are critical.

What you will do

• Starting from Functional Specifications, develop, extend, execute, and analyze regression, functional and end-to-end test plans.
• Develop tools, scripts, and programs to implement test automation for every new feature of the product, using a powerful collection of in-house and off-the-shelf frameworks and tools.
• Utilize basic understanding of networks and network protocols, as well as programming skills to find implementation, compliance, and performance problems with various components and features of the Riverbed appliances and applications.
• Work with the development team in an Agile environment to identify, setup, test, and troubleshoot various permutations of software/hardware/network configurations.
• Perform exploratory testing and report issues encountered.

What makes you an ideal candidate

• You have strong testing and debugging skills on Unix/Linux flavored environments, including trouble shooting issues/problems with those systems.
• You have proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and Bash.
• You have experience automating both UI and backend testing scenarios by using tools like Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, etc.
• You have demonstrated basic performance testing experience for Linux applications using tools like perf and Flame Graphs.
• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• You are familiar with GenAI development tools like Cursor and GitHub Copilot and apply them thoughtfully as a pair-programming aid to streamline coding and testing workflows.
• You understand Continuous Integration process and test management tools such as Jenkins, Jira, TestRail, and GIT (optional).
• You are familiar with testing software applications in cloud environments (optional).
