Special Education Resource Teacher & Case Manager
Markham, IL | 2026-2027 School Year

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Resource Teacher & Case Manager to join a supportive PreK-8 school district in Markham, Illinois for the 2026-2027 school year . Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher , under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality educational services to students receiving special education support. This role includes delivering specialized instruction in small group settings and serving as a case manager for assigned students.
The ideal candidate is committed to collaboration, student success, and fostering inclusive learning environments through active participation in program planning and implementation.
Key Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction to students in small group settings

Manage and maintain assigned student caseloads
-
Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations
-
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families
-
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
-
Provide consultation and support to general education staff
-
Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal special education requirements
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
-
Valid Illinois teaching certification as required by state and district regulations
-
Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred

Standard Elementary Teaching Certification preferred
-
Standard Secondary Teaching Certification preferred
-
Standard Special Teaching Certification preferred
-
Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) endorsement preferred
-
Compliance with all professional standards of practice
-
Current CPR certification, if applicable
-
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable
-
Current health certificate as required by contract or state regulations

Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
