Exciting opportunity for experienced professionals in insurance verification, authorizations, referrals, and scheduling. This position w orks with providers, clinicians, and insurance companies to schedule new evaluations and resolve issues that may delay care or result in denials. Familiarity with ICD-10 terminology and CPT codes, along with excellent customer service and attention to detail is preferred!

Position Summary: Sets up exams, procedures and tests for patients; handles customer service inquiries. Ensures the smooth operation by obtaining accurate and complete patient and insurance information.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver quality customer service by answering incoming phone calls or contacting patients by phone to determine appropriate exam/test/procedure and schedule patient appropriately.

  • Review screening form and obtain/verify patient and insurance information to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure best possible customer service by properly educating the patient on the exam/test/procedure preparation and answering related questions.

  • Update patient record, including any notes necessary for the technologist, customer, or future reference.

  • Follows site-specific protocols and keeps protocol documentation up-to-date to ensure compliance.

  • Obtains proper approval for schedule changes or cancellations as appropriate.

  • Maintain total confidentiality of personal and financial data.

  • Act in a courteous manner and maintain composure even when dealing with angry or irritated patients.

  • Other clerical duties may include maintaining databases, faxing and scanning patient histories, answering phones, and updating patient account information.

  • Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred:

  • Prior scheduling experience.

  • Two years of experience, preferably in health care.
