The bartender will serve guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of wine spirits and mixed drinks as well as information regarding preparation methods. The bartender will respond to inquiries in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons’ policies.

Job Responsibilities

General

  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.

  • Comply with all departmental compliance requirements as set forth by Human Resources.

  • Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in the Employee Handbook.

  • Anticipate guest needs, offers suggestions and ascertains satisfaction.

  • Take ownership of guest concerns and requests and acts decisively to ensure guest satisfaction when glitches occur.

  • Perform any other cognate duties as and when required.

Departmental

Prepare and serve a selection of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks from th Purpose

e menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending according to established recipes and established Four Seasons Standards

Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests from the lounge server using the hotel’s point-of-sales system; check completed orders with the guest’s original order

Service and take orders from guests seated at the bar area offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of the each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; maintain a working knowledge of liquors, wines, beets, ports, armagnac, eau de vies, cognacs and specialty drinks

Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests

Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items

Serve food items in the bar area

Assist with bar inventory

Cut fruit and prepare beverage garnishments

Describes food & beverage menu items with interesting and vivid descriptions in a concise, informative and appropriate manner

Is highly sensitive to guest preferences; assists in compiling guest history; offers a special service touch when an opportunity is presented

Requisitions supplies according to established procedures

Accurately posts guest checks, processes payments and adheres to related control procedures in a vigilant manner

Special Requirements

  • Has 1-2 years of relevant experience as bartender or related work

  • Ability to pour, mix, and blend a wide variety, of wines, spirits, and missed drinks

  • Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions

  • Good knowledge of classic cocktails

  • Open and friendly personality

  • Fluent in English and French
