An employer is looking for a qualified Service Engineer in the Reston, VA or Redmond, WA area. This role will be crucial to the success of ongoing online services for various customers. In this role the Service Engineer will be responsible for responding to and resolving urgent service problems within customer environments. They will also be expected to recommend automation to prevent problem recurrence for approval by the customer. They will closely collaborate with partner teams when engineering and business dependencies exist. There will be a heavy reliance on analyzing problems and developing solutions using various data collection tools and methodologies. They will also be expected to learn understand, and apply data classification management policies.

Skills and Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience as a Support, Service or Systems Engineer

  • Strong experience working with PowerShell, Office 365 (O365), Azure, Teams, and Sharepoint

  • Strong experience in diagnosing faults in complex online services

  • Familiarity and demonstrated experience with SaaS and software design

  • Experience with network tracing and troubleshooting (Wireshark and Netmon)

  • Demonstrated expertise in Windows architecture

  • Proficiency with one or more general purpose programming languages and/or scripting languages (C++, C#, Java, PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, etc.)

  • Solid understanding and proven experience with tools such as Process Monitor, Performance Monitor, Event Viewer, and other server monitoring tools to troubleshoot server software as well as network issues

-Ability to work 24x7x365 across a myriad of shifts on site

-Active TS SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
