Full job description

🛠️ Diesel Mechanic – Rayne, Louisiana

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $24–$27/hour (based on experience)

Overtime: Time-and-a-half after 40 hours, that’s $36 - $40.50/hour

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, 1:30 p.m. – Midnight

  • Every 3rd Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

  • 50–60 hours/week

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll keep our fleet of garbage trucks running strong by:

  • Handling repairs, inspections, and safety checks

  • Diagnosing and fixing electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and air systems

  • Using vehicle computer systems to troubleshoot and adjust engine controls

  • Reviewing and completing driver inspection reports

  • Logging work in fleet maintenance software

  • Test-driving trucks after service

  • Pitching in with teammates and keeping the shop clean

  • Interacting professionally with drivers

  • Taking on other duties as assigned

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of diesel or heavy truck maintenance experience

  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair techniques

  • Basic tool set (we help with a monthly allowance)

  • Hydraulic experience is a plus

  • ASE certification is a plus

  • Class A or B CDL is a plus
