Job Duties

Start Date: 07/01/2026

End Date: 01/31/2027

Work hours: 45 hours/week, Monday - Saturday, 8 hours/day (5 hours on Saturday), 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Job Duties:

Job duties include sampling and testing mill inputs to ensure they meet quality standards specifications, and company guidelines, preparing sample reports, and delivering reports to the Quality department. Job requires performing quality control inspections which include inspecting, testing, and analyzing employer produced grains and other mill inputs to determine their suitability for processing and to ensure inputs meet quality standards and specifications per company guidelines. Job duties will also include accurately inspecting inbound grain for moisture content, size, weight, color, toxins, pathogens, oil content, mold, protein content, and foreign presence using a variety of equipment that includes, but is not limited to, grain moisture meters, whole grain analyzers, inputting sample test results into sample reports; and delivering reports to Quality Control. Employee will also operate Feed Mill grinding and mixing equipment including batcher, micro table, and loading out of completed feed per Company guidelines.

Work locations are in Canby & Porter, MN (Yellow Medicine County); Dawson, MN (Lac Qui Parle County); Astoria, SD (Deuel County)

Minimum Education Required

None. No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

Minimum of 2 months experience required.

Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs.

Job requires having or being able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire.

Basic English literacy skills are required.

Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to varying weather conditions and extensive sitting, walking, stooping, or bending.

Random drug testing may occur post-hire at the employer's expense. These checks may be performed to ensure a safe housing and work environment for all workers.

Additional Compensation

*Work in South Dakota is $13.19 per hour.

*Work in Minnesota is $14.60 per hour

The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

Job Benefits

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts (Updated 04/07/2026). Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
