About the Position: This position is located in Schofield Barracks, Desmond T Doss Health Clinic in Hawaii. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirements for Clinical Psychologist: Degree: Successful completion of a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. Completion of an APA-accredited professional psychologist internship preferred. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below: Experience required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized Experience: Evaluating and treating patients with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and comorbid conditions using evidence-based modalities (such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy); formulating diagnostic treatment plans; and providing psychological consultation within an interdisciplinary medical team. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Special Placement Factor: Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Serve as a Clinical Psychologist who utilizes experience and knowledge with both psychological and medical aspects of traumatic brain injury (TBI) for the treatment of associated symptoms. Employ psychological techniques for the treatment of traumatic brain injury symptoms and psychological conditions. Provide patients with psychological and behavioral techniques and strategies that help them manage and cope better with chronic pain. Utilize evidence-based treatment modalities for the treatment of comorbid conditions such as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Formulate diagnostic and treatment plans and recommendations for treatment teams consisting of physicians, mid-level providers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, nursing staff and others. Formulate outpatient assessments and treatment plans. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
