Full job description

NVIDIA’s Networking business unit is looking for an experienced, high-energy Software Engineering Manager to lead a software development team within our Networking Devices Management Tools group. The group builds mission-critical tools used worldwide by leading technology companies and open-source communities to configure, manage, and debug NVIDIA’s cutting-edge networking hardware—the infrastructure powering NVIDIA AI supercomputers.

In this role, you will manage and develop a team of talented engineers while remaining closely connected to the technology. Working with the group’s leadership and peer managers, you will guide detailed software design and drive the delivery of reliable, scalable, cross-platform solutions in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing software development team, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, feedback, and career development.

  • Own the team’s priorities and execution within the group roadmap, driving projects from provided system architecture and requirements through detailed software design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

  • Provide technical and design leadership for high-performance C++ and Python management tools that interact with NVIDIA networking devices across Linux and Windows.

  • Drive engineering excellence through design and code reviews, automation, testing, release practices, quality standards, and the effective adoption of AI-assisted development tools.

  • Collaborate with the group’s leadership, peer teams, hardware, firmware, QA, product, and program-management partners to manage dependencies, resolve risks, and deliver cross-functional initiatives.

What we need to see:

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8+ overall years of hands-on software development experience building complex, production-quality software, with strong proficiency in C++, Python, object-oriented design, Linux, Git, debugging, and modern development practices.

  • 3+ years of software engineering management experience, including responsibility for people development, performance management, and successful project delivery.

  • Proven ability to translate system architecture and ambiguous requirements into detailed software designs and actionable execution plans while managing priorities, risks, dependencies, and delivery.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach and the ability to influence stakeholders across teams and organizational levels.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience developing software for networking devices, embedded systems, hardware-management tools, or data-center infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of networking technologies, device configuration, telemetry, diagnostics, or hardware-debugging workflows.

  • Experience leading the development of cross-platform software for Linux and Windows.

  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams and contributing to large cross-organizational programs.

  • Demonstrated success improving engineering productivity, development processes, automation, or AI-assisted software development workflows.
