Job Title: Parts Counter RepresentativeJob Description
The Parts Counter Representative supports the parts department by helping customers and technicians identify, locate, and receive the correct automotive parts. This role combines customer service, inventory support, and coordination with internal staff to ensure efficient parts operations and a positive experience for everyone who visits or contacts the dealership.
Responsibilities

Assist customers in identifying and selecting the appropriate parts for their vehicles, both in person and over the phone.

Provide technicians with accurate and timely parts needed to service customer vehicles.

Collaborate with the parts manager to locate and source parts that are not currently in stock.

Place and track orders for parts and clearly communicate order status and delivery timelines to customers.

Notify customers promptly when ordered parts arrive and are ready for pickup or installation.

Serve as a backup to the stocking clerk when needed, supporting stocking, organizing, and maintaining the parts inventory and stockroom.

Communicate with staff, technicians, and customers in a friendly, professional, and helpful manner.

Use Microsoft Office to manage basic documentation, communication, and parts-related information.

Support a clean, organized, and efficient parts counter and stockroom environment.
Essential Skills
-
1–2 years of experience in shipping and receiving or entry-level retail automotive parts.

Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with customers and internal staff.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work accurately with part numbers and descriptions to ensure correct parts selection.

Basic understanding of automotive parts and dealership operations.

Effective verbal communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

1–2 years of Ford and/or dealership experience is a plus.

Familiarity with DealerBuilt or similar dealership management software is a plus.

Willingness to learn and openness to training for the right individual.

Experience working in a parts department, dealership, or stockroom environment is beneficial.

Interest in long-term growth within a dealership setting and willingness to take on new responsibilities over time.
Work Environment
This role is based in the parts department, working alongside the parts manager and several team members who support the parts counter and stockroom. The position is a first-shift role with hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The environment is collaborative and customer-focused, with regular interaction with technicians, service staff, and customers. The company offers a stable position with room for growth into other areas of the dealership over time. The work is primarily performed at the parts counter and in the stockroom, requiring attention to detail, organization, and consistent, professional communication.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Willow Grove, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
