Staff Pharmacist – Specialty Pharmacy (Temporary Assignment)

Pharmacy Hours and Location:

This pharmacy serves the local community Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Typical pharmacist schedules are 9:00 AM–5:00 PM or 11:00 AM–7:00 PM

Occasional Saturday coverage may be required

Provide exceptional and personalized patient care and pharmacy consulting services; advise and guide with empathy, confidentiality, and diligence

Perform product verification and data verification activities to ensure safe and accurate medication dispensing

Provide clinical counseling and education to specialty pharmacy patients

Build effective relationships with physicians, providers, and healthcare teams to support positive patient outcomes

Support pharmacy operations by providing coverage for scheduled absences and staffing needs

Embrace a deep understanding of pharmacy operations and a drive for continual improvement, learning, and leading to provide the best possible patient care and empower the pharmacy team's development

Stay informed of regulations, retail pharmacy best practices, and knowledge of specialty disease states including Oncology, Rheumatology, and Endocrinology

What You'll Bring
Basic Qualifications:
-
Pharm.D. or BS Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy

Successful completion of Connecticut state pharmacy board examination
-
Active Connecticut Pharmacist License in good standing
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in specialty pharmacy

Experience counseling patients on specialty medications

Strong clinical communication and patient education skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment
Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This position is moderately active and requires standing, walking, and other movement for the duration of the shift and lifting up to 25 pounds

Base Compensation: $125,000.00 to $155,000.00
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as location, education, experience, and skillset. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental and vision plans covering eligible US employees and dependents, voluntary wellness and employee assistance programs, life insurance, disability, retirement plans with matching, and paid time off.)
