Full job description
Job Title: QC Lab Technician
Location: East Hanover, New Jersey
Type: Contract
Compensation: $25.00
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours: Mon - Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm (occasional Saturday)
Responsibilities
-
Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests of solid materials, liquids, and gases and analyze test data.

Operate performance testing equipment and analytical instrumentation, ensuring proper maintenance, calibration, and repairs when needed.

Perform detailed ASTM, SAE, and FTM testing of raw materials, intermediates, production batches, and R&D/Technical Service samples, including aviation-specific performance testing, viscometric testing, tribology testing, foam/emulsion testing, and grease testing.

Characterize ultra-clean requirements using Spectroscopic light scattering particle counters.

Conduct quantitative gravimetric Millipore filtration analysis and wet chemical titration methods including Karl Fisher, total acid/base number.

Measure Specific Gravity, Pour/Flash/Fire Point, and Electrical properties; perform analytical analysis using ICP, HPLC, GC, and FTIR.

Perform routine control charting on critical tests,Troubleshoot and communicate deviations or trends.

Operate production laboratory to test inline packaged material, authorize line approvals, and support quality maintenance.

Maintain accurate, organized, and defensible documentation of all results; interface with software such as SAP.

Participate in internal and external audits of laboratory performance.

Perform PTHAs, JSAs, and support plant/department safety and 5S initiatives.
Requirements
-
Bachelor of Science in Sciences or Associate degree with lab experience preferred.

Experience with Wet Chemistry (specific gravity, titrations, Karl Fisher), viscosity testing, and familiarity with ICP, HPLC, GC, and FTIR is a plus.

Ability to lift up to 10-35 lbs., transporting solvents and sampling from oil/grease pails.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Must be able to work on-site at East Hanover, NJ.
