Read to learn more ▶️ https://lnkd.in/gd7brT8S Role Overview The Finance Associate – Laboratory & R&D Operations will support the financial management of Scimplify's R&D and laboratory activities. This is an entry-to-mid-level role that sits at the intersection of finance and R&D operations, responsible for accurate cost tracking, budgeting, vendor coordination, and compliance reporting for research projects in specialty chemicals and CDMO. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working cross-functionally with technical teams, and brings a proactive approach to process improvement. Key Responsibilities Budgeting & Cost Reporting

• Prepare monthly budgets, forecasts, and variance reports covering lab consumables, reagents, equipment, and manpower costs.
• Track project-wise expenditure including consumables, reagents, instruments, manpower, and third-party services.
• Implement cost allocation models across projects, departments, and functional units.
• Collaborate with R&D project managers to build financial dashboards and cost variance reports. Vendor & Procurement Coordination
• Coordinate with procurement and stores teams for vendor payments, GRN validation, and inventory valuation.
• Ensure timely processing of purchase orders and invoice reconciliations for R&D-related expenditure. Inventory & Asset Management
• Manage month-end classification and physical verification of lab inventory (reagents, consumables, equipment spares).
• Maintain accurate records of R&D assets and support periodic physical asset verification. Compliance & Audit Support
• Support internal and statutory audits through timely documentation of R&D financial transactions.
• Manage compliance with company budget policies, expenditure ceilings, and project financial KPIs.
• Assist in documentation requirements for R&D cost capitalisation under applicable accounting standards (Ind AS 38). Qualifications Educational Qualification
• B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter.
• Candidates with completed CA / CMA qualification will be considered for a senior grade. Experience
• 1–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in finance roles within pharma, specialty chemicals, or R&D-intensive manufacturing.
• Prior exposure to cost accounting, project-based expense tracking, or lab/plant operations finance is an advantage. Technical Skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, conditional formatting) and Google Sheets.
• Working knowledge of ERP tools (SAP / Tally / Zoho Books or equivalent) for data extraction and reporting.
• Basic knowledge of cost accounting principles, budget management, and regulatory compliance in R&D environments.
