Basic Job Functions:

The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for but not limited to providing support in all facets of maintenance operation; planning of work, implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programs, setup & adjust inventory levels based on operational needs. The Maintenance Planners ability to safely operate forklifts on a regular basis which requires a NYS certification to be maintain at all times while in this role. Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings is crucial in being successful as a Maintenance Planner. The Maintenance Planner must also be able to communicate effectively with maintenance/engineering, other departments, as well as being cost conscious and having the negotiating skills for the evaluation of supplies and services needed by NYS. Coordinate the procurement of replacement parts, tools services, and spare parts. Excellent organizational and planning skills and detail oriented will be necessary to coordinate, document and track the repairs, modifications, and replacement of equipment and/or parts removed from service. Assist supervision in planning and coordinating shutdown and scheduled downtime work activities. This position will be required to work overtime and holidays as needed. [[cust_safetyState]]

Minimum Requirements:

4 years experience working in sales or purchasing within the mechanical or electrical fields

Experience with AS400, Oracle, & CMMS

Mechanical Knowledge Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and/or maintenance.

Electrical Knowledge Knowledge of (basic) electrical theory, including(basic) troubleshooting, installation,repair and/or maintenance of electronic equipment.

Initiative Being proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.

Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work Developing specific goals and plans for prioritizing, organizing, and accomplishing individual work and/or the work of the team.

Spatial Understanding Ability to read prints and apply information to end use and/or awareness of physical surroundings and understanding objects in 3-D space.

Preferences:

Steel Industry Maintenance Experience

CAD experience, SolidWorks and/or AutoCad
