Full job description
Service & Production Technician Role Overview We are seeking a Service & Production Technician to join our Nashville-based operations team. In this hybrid role, you will split your time between our HQ production floor and the field — supporting device assembly and production operations when you're in Nashville, and performing on-site installations, commissioning, and preventive maintenance at clinical facilities nationwide. During your training period you will be primarily HQ-based, learning the Rise&Walk device inside and out before taking it into the field. At full ramp, you'll be traveling 4–6 trips per month while remaining a productive contributor on the production floor in between. This role is built for someone who is equally comfortable with a torque wrench at a build station and a customer in a rehab hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation and commissioning of robotic rehabilitation units.
- Deliver preventive and corrective maintenance; troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Document service activity accurately and manage parts and inventory for your assigned region.
- Serve as a professional, on-site representative of Healing Innovations in clinical environments.
- Support production floor operations at HQ: device assembly, sub-assembly build, bench testing, and quality checks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of assembly processes and documentation as the production team scales. Candidate Profile
- Strong troubleshooter: diagnoses and resolves both mechanical and electrical problems in the field.
- Customer-facing professional: calm, clear, and credible in active clinical settings.
- Self-directed and reliable: Prompt, consistent, and owns outcomes with little oversight.
- Hands-on: comfortable with tools, assemblies, and complex electromechanical equipment.
- Mission-minded: motivated by restoring mobility for patients.
- Production-capable: comfortable on an assembly floor — can build, test, and troubleshoot at a bench station, not just in the field.
- Organized, Detail-Oriented: Completes required documentation and helps maintain inventory. Basic Qualifications
- Biomedical equipment technician (BMET) or field-service background on medical devices or complex electromechanical equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to travel heavily (approximately 50%+) with a valid driver’s license.
- Authorization to work in the USA (we do not sponsor H1B).
- Fluent in English. Preferred Qualifications
- Medical-device field service experience; AAMI/BMET certification.
- Experience servicing robotics or motion/actuated systems.
- Familiarity with IEC 60601 or similar electrical safety standards.
