Full job description

The Manufacturing Technician (Precision / Advanced Manufacturing) role requires the following capabilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshooting production equipment to ensure efficient and reliable manufacturing performance
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to properly set up and process parts
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers) to verify compliance with quality standards
  • Identify and resolve minor process or equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain throughput
  • Maintain accurate production records, inspection data, and equipment logs to support traceability and reporting
  • Manage multiple production queues and priorities to meet production schedules and customer demands
  • Support preventive maintenance activities and perform routine equipment checks
  • Follow all safety protocols, including OSHA guidelines, lockout/tagout awareness, and proper use of PPE
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace in accordance with 5S principles
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supervision teams to resolve issues and support process improvements

**Your Skills and Expertise **

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Winterthur Technologies requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and basic GD&T concepts
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges)
  • Basic computer skills for production tracking and documentation

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or 5S practices
  • Experience working with tight tolerances or precision components
  • Previous experience in regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environments
